Star of the Show Sunday – Blueberry Bushel

Star of the Show Sunday – Blueberry Bushel

Today we’ll be looking at this lovely Regal colour Blueberry Bushel. Blueberry Bushel is halfway between a Navy and a Royal Blue. This luxurious rich blue colour, it is great for night skies, florals and even Christmas cards to get away from more traditional colours.

This card is simple to create, you may need a stamping platform, but it can be achieved using the stamp upside down. This ombre card is made using all only 3 colours, Basic White card, Blueberry Bushel Cardstock and Ink and Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.

This card uses a background stamp, this stamp is a large Cling stamp which is around 4.5 x 5.5-inch in size, I also used the Softly Said Cling Stamp Set, which is sadly retired, however any large sentiment stamp would do.

The card can be done as a standard card base, however I have created a reverse Z Card with a front panel to display the Ombre effect.

What you will need

  • Painted Stripes Cling Background Stamp
  • Large Sentiment Stamp
  • 5 x 8.5-inch piece of Blueberry Bushel Cardstock (half of A4 cut on long egde will do also)
  • 2 pieces 3.75 x 5-inch Basic White Cardstock
  • Blueberry Bushel Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
  • Black embellishments
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stamp Positioning Tool (Optional)
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Stamp Block

Instructions

  1. Score your piece of Blueberry Bushel at 4.5-inch & 2 &1/8th Inch fold at 4.5-inch and fold away at 2 &1/8th to create a reverse Z if looking down on the card.
  2. Stick one of the pieces of 3.26 x 5-inch to the inside of the card with an equal border round it.
  3. Ink up the Painted Stripes Cling Stamp with Blueberry Bushel
  4. If using a stamp positioner, stamp off twice on a scrap piece of paper then stamp on the other piece of 3.75 x 5-inch then ink up 2/3rds of the stamp, stamp off once and stamp on the cardstock. Then ink up again the stamp on 1/3rds of the stamp and don’t stamp off and stamp onto the cardstock, then you have 3 variations of the colour.
  5. If the stamp is facing up on a table, ink up the stamp, use a scrap piece of paper and stamp off 1/3rd of the stamp on that once, then stamp off once on 2/3rds of the scrap paper and then stamp on the card stock.
  6. Using a Stamp block or the stamp positioning tool stamp the sentiment on to the new background using the Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.
  7. Attach the background piece on the bent back piece of the card base lining up with the inside portion of Basic White.
  8. Add Embellishments on front of the card

And there we have it a card to stun and wow your friends and family with.
