How do you like to stick it? There’s a myriad of methods supplied by Stampin’ Up! You can glue it, tape it or pop it up.
Here I will go through a selection of different adhesives that Stampin’ Up! Have in their product list and talk about the best uses for each.
First, we have Multipurpose Liquid Glue, this is most crafters favourite, it’s a must have for multiple uses. It features a thin and broad tip and can be used on paper, cardstock, embellishments and even the most detailed die cuts. You can even get a Fine Tip Glue Pen separately which can be useful for even smaller details
Next, we have Stampin’ Seal and Seal+ both come in a small mouse type tool and can be refilled. Seal is a permanent adhesive tape runner that creates an instant Bond, it’s a great alternative to Multipurpose Liquid Glue, it allows you to stick paper, card, die cuts etc. Whereas Seal+ can be used to secure heavier layers and even hold together 3D projects with ease.
Tear & Tape just like the Stampin’ Seal and Seal+ but without the runner tool, like the name suggests it can be torn off and stuck to projects and holds strong, it again can be used on paper, card, 3D projects or when you need to pop on some ribbon or twine.
Adhesive Sheets are 6 x 12-inch sheets that can be used to stick down layers on your cards, but what is really useful with Adhesive sheets is you can use them on really detailed die cuts that way you don’t need to worry about glue residue seeping from below the die cut, simply stick some on one side of your cardstock by peeling one side of the release paper, die cut you piece and then take off the other piece of release paper and stick to your project.
Mini Glue Dots™ are small balls of glue that allow you to roll them and use them to secure ribbon, twine, bows, heavier embellishments etc.
Lastly, we have the foam adhesives, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals, Black Combo pack (standard & Mini Dimensionals) Foam Strips and Foam Sheets.
Stamping Dimensionals Mini & Standard come in white & black, these small quarter of an inch or 3 eighths of an inch hexagonal shaped foam pads help pop up your layers, sentiments, die cuts to give a 3D effect and gives dimension to your cards and papercraft projects.
The Sheets & Strips come in white only, the sheets can be added to cardstock and allow you to create detailed die cuts with a bit of dimension. You can also give dimension to larger areas easily. The strips are great for giving more strength to larger panels than using a bunch of Stampin’ Dimensionals, or can be curved to go round curved elements of your project.
